MISSION STATEMENT When music and the human spirit connect, the lives of
mankind of womankind are enriched. It is the mission of the Dr. Francis G.
Bulber Youth Orchestra, founded in August of 1994, to teach about great
music and its role in human history as well as to teach applied music by
providing educational and performance experiences in an orchestral
environment. |
Due to several requests from you we are planning to offer a class in non-classical string instruction on June 15 - 19 from 3 to 5 pm. in the first floor gallery at Historic 1911 City Hall. Instruction will feature fiddling techniques for folk songs as well as other genres. Christopher Gunter will teach the class and promises to make it fun as well as educational. For those of you who don't know Chris, he is a graduate of our program who works with the Symphonic Youth Orchestra as an MSU intern. He is quite accomplished on several instruments and has composed. He conducted the orchestra several years ago in a piece he wrote in memory of our late conductor, Pat Chafin. The fee for the one week course will be $50 per child. |
